British Blind Sport Have a Go Sports Day in Powys

Brecon Leisure Centre played host to a British Blind Sports Day for people of all ages with a visual impairment.
The BBS sports taster day took place on Saturday May 16th , lead by Steve Green of British Blind Sport and Beverley Tucker, Disability Sports Wales Officer for Powys.
Beijing Paralympian Footballer Jonathan Gribbin was on hand to pass on his Footballing skills and advice, throughout the day, along with Brecon`s
Terry Ottewell , former IPC bronze medallist at the European Championships.
BBS Archery Coaches, Sue Habgood and Colin Dickenson, travelled from South England to demonstrate how Archery had been adapted for Paralympic competition.
Participants were also able to try out the other sports which were ,Ten Pin Bowls, Green Bowls, Athletics , and Cricket.
This was the first of a series of BBS Have a go day`s in Wales, attracting over twenty registered blind people to Brecon.
