Bateman wins Athlete of the Year award!

Having been nominated by Caerphilly Disability Sport Wales Development officer Paul Taylor, Sam collected his award on July 2nd 2008 from Welsh Paralympian Steve Thomas. The award is given to an athlete who has represented their country in competition, and shown talent and determination.
Sam certainly fits into this catergory, having worked incredibly hard over the last 3 years to gain his spot in the top tier of the Disability Sport Wales National Athletics Academy. Sam is a sprinter, with his events being 100m, 200m and also the long jump. He has just returned from the British Junior Championships in Blackpool, bringing home 2 silver medals and 1 gold for some fantastic performances.
Well done Sam on a very well deserved award.
