Gelligaled bowls club was formed in 1932, is run by the management committee, and caters for all ages, disabled and non disabled.
The club currently has 4 qualified coaches and all play as part of the club.
Although the club has two structured training times, it is extremely flexible and accommodates to suit the individual during April to mid September.
1. Friday: 4.30pm - 6pm (Juniors: 4.45pm - 5.45pm)
2. Wednesday: 1.00pm - 3.00pm (Wood'N'Hearts group and other players with a disability)
Club/individual achievements:
The senior coach, Mr Ron Williams, has played at senior county level and in 2007 won both Rhondda Borough Bowling Association and Cynon Valley bowls league singles competitions.
The club plays in Division 1 in both Rhondda and Cynon Valley leagues, in Division 1 in the Mid Glamorgan League and in Division 4 of the Cardiff & District MBA having won Division 6 in 2008 and Division 5 in 2009.

There is equipment available for new players in various sizes of bowls including small bowls for smaller hands.
A specially adapted wheelchair is available for use by anyone who requires to remain seated whilst bowling. The bowling green is level with the surrounding pathways - no steps onto green. Also no steps into clubhouse, which has a dedicated disabled toilet.
