Celtic Warriors Wheelchair Basketball Club Information
The Celtic Warriors Wheelchair Basketball Club is currently the only Wheelchair Basketball club in North Wales with a team in the National League. The club is currently in the 2nd Division North of the National League and has just formed a new team with players from Rhyl Raptors Wheelchair Basketball Club to be entered into the Development League for the 2011-2012 season. This means that there are now competitive opportunities for players of all abilities.
The club welcomes players from all over North Wales, Cheshire and the North West. You do not necessarily have to be a wheelchair user to access this sport. Anyone who is willing to get in a wheelchair to play is welcome, including non-disabled players, amputees and individuals who have acquired a chronic injury that prevents them from playing the running version of the game. So come and have a go – we guarantee you will enjoy it ….
The club caters for people aged from 12 upwards, both male and female. We have a number of Club owned Basketball wheelchairs you can use and we also have access to a number of grant awarding organisations who assist us with purchasing chairs for players.
Club training is Saturday afternoons 12.00pm - 4.00pm at Darland Sports Centre in Rossett, Nr Wrexham.
League team training is on Wednesday evenings 8pm-10pm at Glyndwr University in Wrexham.
