Merthyr Dragons Football Club is a very friendly and experienced football club. The club has been running for over a year and has a large number of children who regularly attend.
The coaches who take the sessions are Vince Davies and chris churchill both are FAW C license accredited football coaches so they have a very good knowledge of how to coach football. Both coaches are also currently involved in coaching women's football and have done this for several years.
Currently the club trains on a Wednesdays at Pen-Y-Dre High School Sports Hall from 7pm - 8pm.
Merthyr Dragons also play competitive matches against other disability teams in the South Wales area, they recently put on a tournament in Merthyr and finished in a respectable 3rd place. The FAW trust has organised a tournament every month so the team will always have a competitive opportunity if they wish to participate.
The club can cater for boys and girls with numerous disabilities, currently there are 15 regular participants and the club is growing at a fast pace. The age range for the current participants are 12-19 but the club is going to be setting up sessions for children aged 6-11 in the very near future. we have now changed to 12 yrs of age up to open age
