Sledge Ice Hockey is a seated version of ice hockey. Players sit in specially designed sledges low to the ice and use two shortened hockey sticks with a blade at one end to hit the puck and metal spikes at the other end to dig into the ice to propel themselves.
This club is suitable for junior and senior members and caters primarily for physically disabled people although anyone is welcome to take part, including non-disabled participants.
The Huskies training is on Sundays:
May to September 4.30pm to 6pm
September to May 9.30pm to 11pm
All ice hockey kit and sledges are supplied by the club wherever possible. You are advised to ring or email before attending to discuss your equipment requirements.
This is a fast action, full contact team sport and the Huskies cater for all ability levels from beginners and recreational players through to Winter Paralympians.
A certain degree of upper body strength is required for this sport. Please ask if you need further clarification.
