Welcome to Ceredigion's page on the Disability Sport Wales Website.
My name is Gemma Cutter, Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Ceredigion. I am based with Ceredigion Actif Sport Development Unit at Canolfan Rheidol, Aberystwyth.
Within Ceredigion there are currently existing clubs and provisions offering a variety of sporting activities for disabled people, ranging from football, skiing, swimming, multi sports, Boccia and Athletics.
The UK Disability Inclusion Training Course (UK DIT) is currently available in Wales, courses run several times over the year so please contact me for upcoming dates.
In order to help support clubs deliver good quality sessions Disability Sport Wales have introduced insport. insport is a four tiered (Ribbon, Bronze, Silver and Gold) identification and accreditation process which any sports club can go through to show they are committed to providing and delivering inclusive sport. If you are a mainstream club providing inclusive sport already or would like to please contact me. Look out for the insport logo that highlights some of the most inclusive sports clubs across Wales.
I update the website on a weekly basis with news, events and up and coming courses to please check regularly!

Multi Sport club for children 6+ with disabilities.
The sessions take place at Plascrug Leisure Centre every Monday night between 5 and 6pm. Term time only.

Boccia and Learn to Swim Sessions

Boccia is a club for children, young people and adults who wish to participate for fun or for the competitive element.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport similar to indoor bowls. Players try to get the boccia balls closer to the jack ball than the other player or team!
Sessions run every second Saturday of the month 10.30am-12pm at Aberaeron Leisure Centre.

SKIS Sessions

SKIS (special kids in skis) is one of the first sport groups in Ceredigion to be awarded the Insport Ribbon Award. Gemma Cutter the Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Ceredigion said "Insport is an accreditation process developed by the Federation of Disability Sport Wales to help more disabled people get invovled in sport and to provide more opportunities". SKIS hold a monthly ski session at Llangrannog ski centre (URDD Site) for children and young people with disabilities. The club has specailly adapted sit skis for people with physcial disabilities. If any club in Ceredigion would like to hear more about the Insport accreditation process please contact Gemma for more information.
SKIS 'Special Kids in Skis' ski sessions run on the last sunday of every month 1.30 -3.30 pm at Llangrannog Ski Slope.
