Welcome to the pages for Disability Sport in Swansea. I’m Nicola Rogers, the Disability Sport Wales Development officer.  I am based in the Guildhall in Swansea as part of the Sports Development team.

On this site you will find details of clubs, events and coach education courses in Swansea- keep checking the website as it is updated on a regular basis.  If you have any information that you would like included on this page then get in touch with me.

Currently we are lunching a new Wheelchair Basketball club with Swansea Storm.  The club is running taster sessions in august and will have its first weekly training session on Sept 24th.   

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are interested in getting involved in sport in the area, either through playing, coaching or volunteering.

Paralympions off to Bejing

The 2008 Paralympics kicks off on the 6th September.  It will be shown on the outdoor screen in Castle Square in Swansea, and sports development officers and clubs will be there for a chat about sports and physical acitivty opportunities in swansea and the surrounding area.  Good luck to all of the GB team.

Clubmark Scheme

If you are a Pan Disability or Multi Sport club you may find it difficult to affiliate to a association and gain the benifits and protection that you get through completing the process.  DSW has developed it's own affiliation scheme called CLUBMARK which offers it's own benifits and protection for players, coaches and volunteers . If you would like further information on the Club Mark scheme please contact Nicola on (01792) 635460 for further information and a Clubmark pack.

Swansea Storm Wheelchair Basketball

Swansea Storm, in partnership with FDSW and GBWBA are launching thier weekly wheelchairbasketball training sessions at Swansea College Sports Centre on the 24th Sept 7-8pm.  Wheelchairs will be provided at the centre and everyone is welcome to come and try this exiting game.  Taster sessions will be run on the 20th and 27th August, 7-8pm at Swansea College sports centre, free of charge featuring Paralympian Caroline Matthews.  Phone Nicola on 635460 for further information.
