Hi there, my name is Victoria Radmore (Vicky); I am the Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Neath Port-Talbot County Borough Council. I am based in the Afan Lido / Aquadome on the Aberavon beach front. I am one of 19 Officers within the Physical Activity & Sport Service (PASS) team.

I have been in post for the past 6 years and have been involved in disability sport for 2 years previous to my employment. I am the founder of the Welsh Wonders Pan Disability Multi Sport Club which is based at the Afan Lido at Port-Talbot. Welsh Wonders are the only voluntary club that have competed at Stoke Mandeville National Junior Games for the past 4 years, and have returned winning various medals in many disciplines.

Within Neath Port-Talbot (NPT), there are various sports clubs that offer physical activity to people with a disability, if you would like to know more about the clubs please use the club links via this page to find out more.

I am also involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme where volunteers can be actively involved within disability sport. We have a comprehensive training programme to support volunteers and can offer coach education through the various Governing Bodies.

Festival of Sport

Children from across Neath Port Talbot proved that disability is no barrier when it comes to taking part in sport and active living. They put their skills to the test during a week long festival of sport at Margam Park.

The event was organised by Neath Port Talbot Council’s Physical Activity and Sports Service ( PASS) and sponsored by Admiral Insurance.

Hundreds of youngsters took part in sports and activities, including archery, canoeing, climbing, shooting, football, horse riding and rugby.

The Council’s Disability Sport Wales development officer, Victoria Radmore said: "The aim of this initiative is to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to experience a range of fun, challenging and adventurous activities during the school summer holidays. Cabinet member for Community and leisure services Councillor Colin Morgan said

"This is a fantastic event that raises the confidence and self-esteem of the children enabling them to explore and develop their skills while testing their developmental, team building and social skills"

Corus gives Pupils Pedal Power

Pupils at Neath Port Talbot’s newest school are pedalling their way to fitness, thanks to the support of Corus.

Velindre Community School which opened last September is steadily increasing its supply of Sports Equipment through Community Chest, Corus, Disability Sports Wales Officer and Physical Activity and Sport Service.

The innovative School have just purchased and X Bike 1000, to provide pupils with Physical Activity, core stability skills and improve the general fitness of pupils and staff.

Indoor Athletics

Indoor Athletics:

Schools from Neath Port Talbot recently took part in the inaugural Sport for All Indoor Athletics Tournament at the Afan lido.

The Event was sponsored by Corus and organised by Neath Port Talbot Council's Physical Activity & Sport Service, Disability Sport Wales Development Officer, Victoria Radmore.

Miss Radmore said "over 40, pupils with disabilities participated, the winners of this tournament will now go forward to represent the County Borough in the Regional finals.

Councillor Mike James chair of Children and Young People Education Board scrutiny committee said

"The smiles and laughter on the faces of the children, who all have special needs, is testimony to the work put in by Vicky and her team, To see children who have difficulty in coordination, running in a team was fantastic, "
