Newport

Welcome to Newport City Council page on the Disability Sport Wales Website.

My name is Steve McGrath, Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Newport City Council. I am based in the Tennis & Swimming Centre at the Newport International Sports Village as part of the Active Communities Team.

Within Newport, there is a wide variety of sport and physical activity opportunities for disabled people. From athletics to trampolining and everything in between there is sure to be something for you, whether you are looking to take part or to volunteer. For details of local clubs and sessions within Newport, please click here, for details on specific volunteering opportunities, please click here.

As part of its ongoing commitment to quality sport and physical activity provision the Active Communities Team has developed the Active Newport Club Accreditation Scheme. The aim of the scheme is to promote best practice throughout all sessions and clubs within Newport and to enable everyone to take part in sport and physical activity in a suitable and safe environment. All the clubs and sessions Newport listed within these pages are a part of this scheme.

I update the website regularly with news, events and up and coming courses so please check back soon.
