Powys

Hello, my name is Beverley Tucker, the Disability Sport Wales Development Officer for Powys County Council.

In Powys we have helped develop community clubs in each area which cater for all ages and many sports. Throughout the major towns of Machynlleth, Newtown, Llandrindod Wells, Brecon and Ystradgynlais we have developed multi sport clubs for children with a disability. Each club has its own trained volunteers and coaches through the Disability Sport Wales scheme.

Mid Wales  has its own  Junior  Disabled Cricket team which competes in competitions throughout the year in England and Wales.

A Disability Football team called the Powys Panthers  has been recently established, which competes  in leagues across South Wales organised through the FAW Trust .

Disability Sport in Powys also offers opportunities in Sailing , Canoeing, Table Tennis, Bowls, Cricket, Archery, Swimming and Shooting .

For more information or advice,on taking up a new sport  please get in touch to find out more ? Thank you for visiting this site .
