Hi, my name is Greg Morgan, and I am the Disability sport Wales officer for Blaenau Gwent. I am here to assist any club, group or individual as best I can to achieve their goals with regards to Disability Sport.

My primary goal is to facilitate the development of disability sport throughout Blaenau Gwent, dealing with issues such as Coach Education, Grants, Publicity, Volunteers, Facilities, and much more.

Throughout Blaenau Gwent there is a wide range of activities for people with disabilities to participate in, such as swimming clubs offering competitive opportunities, football and tag rugby sessions for young people, and multi sports clubs.

Blaenau Gwent Tag Rugby Team Brave the Road to Worcester

A team of young people aged 12 – 15 will be travelling to Worcester on Saturday 23rd of June to represent Wales in a tag rugby festival. The young players have been attending a weekly training session in partnership with Tredegar Junior and Mini section and Glyncoed Comprehensive School on a Monday.  During the training session the young players have been perfecting their skills in order to compete against other teams from different Countries in a Tag Rugby World Cup.

A new Tag rugby session for young people with a disablity has started in Tredegar leisure centre.

The sessions are every Monday between 4.45 and 5.30pm inside the sports hall.  The sessions are a partnerhip approach between Disability Sport Wales, Tredegar development trust and Tredegar mini rugby.  The sessions are based on fun and inclusion, and getting young people with a disability involved in tag rugby. All sessions are delivered by qualified coaches and cater for all needs.  Each sessions cost £1.50.  for further information on the sessions please contact your Sports Inclusion Officer on 01495 355674.
